Fleas from the Flea Market

I went to the Setagaya Flea Market for a Relief Society outing.  I hung out mostly with Vanalee Carruth (she reminds me of one of my favorite persons, Mary Lou Chavez).  We had a blast chatting and shopping.  I found a couple items that were a steal.  An antique kokeshi doll and an antique handweaved basket plus some cool glass fishing weights I planned to display in the basket.

Problem was, as I was putting the weights into the basket, these WIERD BUGS, like "silver fish" came crawling out everywhere... YUCK!!!  I smashed as many as I could find and then stuck the basket in the sink to wash it out.  Did I throw it away?  Oh no, I love it too much.  It now sits proudly on my shelf.

I can verify... the antique balls are beautiful! They look very nautical- much too precious to let some sick silver fish destroy. That really grosses me out. Aren't flea markets the best?

Hi Tracey,
WOW you always out do yourself with your blogs. And, boy was I happy and surprised to see you mention my mom. She is one of my favorite people too. She is coming to Florida to help me when the movers come to unpack our household goods from Indiana. ( I'm excited to fly out to Utah on Thursday and see my big kids. Thanks for sharing. Marji-

Tracey,

Sorry I haven't commented in a while - but I just want you to know how much I LOVE to hear from you. Your blog is fantastic and so interesting. I love seeing all the wonderful pictures you take. The one about a month ago with the beautiful trees in the background were just awesome, what kind of camera do you have? I love your hairstyle too, you and your family are so beautiful. I'm so bummed that I didn't stop by your moms at Christmas, I would have loved to have seen you all. Looks like you had a great time. We are all so excited to see our moms name in your blog. They were here this weekend, (my husband was made the Bishop!!) so I had to call her in from the other room to see her name "in lights". We love her so much. I still can't get over how time flies, from you knocking on our door to see if my mom could "play" to you now a beautiful, successful, adventuresome, happy, mom and wife. Keep it up. We love you all.

My client was just saying that we should try to make it to the flea market when we go. Although I think I can pass on the Silverfish... what a fun surprise!
