Outdated

While home this summer, I did a MAJOR purging at our home in Indiana. I went through closets, cupboards, drawers, and shelves to clear out and clean out. Living in Japan has made me realize that I don't need all of the stuff we left in Indiana. I hauled at least 20 sacks to Goodwill (I love their drive through... it is by far my favorite drive through.... sooooo n i c e). But I found one item really funny, a true classic. I found a case of 60 cassette tapes, 30 on each side..... B 52's, Men at Work, REM, Big Audio Dynamite II, Toto, Camper Van Beethoven, Police, So I Married and Axe Murderer Soundtrek, Huey Lewis, and more.

What was most funny of all were the "MIX TAPES" we created...

...especially the one we made for our WEDDING RECEPTION.... how sad is that???? Seriously???!!! I couldn't help but save it for sentimental reasons.

Sawyer to Kate "what do you want me to do, make you a mix tape?"

LOL! I recently got rid of my tapes too. I was saving them "just in case" I ever wanted to listen to a tape again. Then I realized, I don't even own a tape player any more. HA HA My favorite memories were the mix tapes too. But I didn't have a good wedding one, like yours, to save. Funny the things we save. You know when your kids grow up and your grand kids want to know about "tapes" (think of 8 tracks) we're going to wish we'd saved one. I'll send them to Aunt Tracey for her wedding tape. :)

Isn't it so nice to clean out our closets? I Looovvve to purge. Seriously, we could never have a garage sale because I pitch a lot of stuff every month. But the wedding tape - you gotta keep that one!

Just caught up on your blog - so fun to read all the things you've been doing and I'm glad you liked Twilight!! I got it as a gift and refused to read it for eight months. But once I picked it up, I was hooked just like you.

Keep up the great posts!

Tapes.....such memories! Funny thing, I too this summer went through at pitched tapes. Remember my first "Belinda". I too have my wedding tape that I made for my slide show. It's all fuzzy. I think it was even during the slide show. HAA HAA!!! Save it for sure! That one is a keeper. Maybe glue on a red hot! hee hee!!! LOVE the Sawyer comment! Jeff and I were watching the pilot the other night. We BUSTED up laughed so hard as we kept rewinding.....
"ever stiched a pair of jeans." When Jack says that to Kate. We got the gagas over that one. THANK YOU for getting me hooked! Hey if you ever have people you don't recognize on your blog, I do send people you don't know to check it out cause I love it so much! :)

Nothing better than mixed tapes. If someone gave you one, you were WAY cool.

Yes, this is the shortest she's had it. I accidentally cut it this short. She loves it! No, I didn't pose Malia. She was playing dress up, and went outside, got cold, and put on the denim jacket. I quickly took this picture. I should have posted Julia's pics solo. She is darling. I have a picture of Kirra feeding Malia, Malia feeding Julia, and Juila feeding Liam. I should post those all together. They are too cute! Thanks for all the comments! Love you!

p.s. I got you all hooked, thank you Trisha! I'm taking credit for that one! Glenn and I got you guys watching LOST during that summer! :)
