Sakura in the Spring

The Sakura trees are in bloom! Sakura is the revered cherry tree of Japan. People come to sit under the Sakura trees all day long, just to take in their beauty. Sakura season for Japanese is like 4th of July for Americans, it is a celebration of pride for Japan. We took these pictures at Ayoyama cemetery. I do my run in this area and decided it was the perfect picture place.
We went with the Cook family so that we could take each other's picture.

The Sakura are truly breathtaking. And, while I love this picture, I have to laugh at Glenn carrying Jonas out of the cemetery... Jonas was busted for throwing rocks.... a very un-Japanese thing to do... oops.

SO BEAUTIFUL!! I want to run through there. Love the shots of your family. Love the outfits. Jonas looks so cool in his pink shirt. Greyson will freak. :) You look HOT! I love the blossoms! What a beautiful place to be. We'll need to visit next spring, so we can enjoy it too! Miss you, being so far away, though. Gorgeous everything! Also, love the story of Jonas being carried out. LOL! He looked so cute and picture perfect, and then carried away like a football for throwing rocks. Classic Jonas!

Wow -- everyone looks so happy and excited to be there.

Thanks for dragging me along. An Olan Mills sakura backdrop just wouldn't be the same.

Hey Tracey,
I found your blog on Sarah's I think. I love reading about all your adventures. I can't believe how big your kids are! Time flies. I know it isn't that funny but I had to chuckle when I read about Jonas throwing rocks. I still think about that day we lost him at the church. What an adventurous kid! Well keep in touch.

Very cool pics. Spring is so awesome!. Family looks very happy and beautiful. Those trees are just another reminder of the beauty around us and sometimes overlooked in our busy lives. Great job getting your family out there to enjoy it!!!

Wow! I love those pics (the one of Jonas getting busted, included). The Sakura trees are so breathtaking, and I can imagine they are even more beautiful in person.

I LOVE these pics! LOVE THEM! Cherry blossoms are my favorite! I experienced a little bit of that when I lived in DC and it makes me want to plant some cherry trees here in chicago! Also, WOW Shailey is growing!!!! I can see her taking off to college here soon!

Lookin' good! What a great place for pics. You all look great. And did my eyes spy Miss Shailey with pierced ears?? Was it an illusion? Did she get them before the big 12?

What great pics. And you look SOOOOOOO CUTE in your dress. Can't wait to see it on you! How do you get Glen to do all that stuff? Ry would but he wouldn't like it. He's a good sport.

I believe these trees were the trees given to the U.S. that now grace the D.C. area. We just celebrated the Cherry Blossom festival just in the last two weeks. Always beautiful!!

Glenn's comments are hilarious. BTW. You win the most comments on any blog award - could that be due to solicitation???? No, really, I think that everyone wants to comment because you have a great blog. That was the perfect day for taking pictures and I am grateful that I did a semi-good job of taking the pictures. Lucky for me that your family is SOOOOOO photogenic. I think that even Snuffalumpoguss could have fumbled with the camera and taken great pictures of your family. We will definitely have to do this again next spring.
