Louis Visit to Japan

My parents came to Tokyo to visit in spring and we were to happy to share our Japan experience with them.  Besides just viewing the amazing sakura (cherry blossom trees) we have a few favorite moments here in pictures.... if a picture speaks 1000 words, how many words do 1000 pictures speak?  (ancient Chinese proverb by Tracey... you can quote me if you like).

Shinjuku Gyoen
Stairway to Heaven.... Azabu Juban subway station

Tokyo Tower
A view from Tokyo Tower
Mt. Fuji... we were thrilled it was a clear day for viewing!
Itchiku Kubota Art Museum
A visit to Glenn's office and a photograph with Shacho himself :)
Yoyogi Koen, our favorite park
Yoyogi street performers... rubber glove head man... classic
Mt. Takao, another gorgeous day!
Roasted odango
The kids love odango, both soy flavored and plain
Jonas copies his sisters' "shrine edicate" and offers a quick prayer
Purifying ourselves before entering holy ground
Giant Tengu mask

Yukai Toriama restaurant and chateau
My vetran California Disneyland parents wanted to see Tokyo Disneyland....
decided yes it is different and worth the trip!
Hooray, Jonas is tall enough for Thunder Mountain
Odaiba bay
It was a wonderful trip for all of us.  Glenn commented, "with your parents here, you get the excuse to do what you always want to do... be a tourist."  Most days, we pulled the kids out of school and just enjoyed Japan.  Mom and Dad, please come back for more!

I'm so glad your parents had such an amazing visit in Japan - wow, and what weather they had too! The Kimono Museum just took my breath away - Emma brought back postcards from her 6th grade school Excursion and I HAD to go! You have documented their trip so beautifully.
PS. My mother-in-law also wanted to go to Tokyo Disneyland (20 years ago)...and that was before we had kids!!

Wow! What an amazing adventure for your parents and for your family to share this adventure. It is nice to be a tourist and enjoy seeing the sights then go and not enjoy the beautiful sights and culture.

I have enjoyed all your photos of Japan. Now I want to be a tourist and vist Japan.
