Doggie Divas

We went to Yoyogi park as a family... I discovered a large fenced in area for dogs. Emma asked if she could go inside... of course! There could not be a better place for Emma, she was in DOGGIE HEAVEN.
This years Doggie Fashion Statement... HOODED SWEATSHIRTS!
The Japanese put their dogs in outrageous outfits! I have seen dogs wear everything from a SANTA SUIT to a KIMONO. I am serious.

How about a HOODED BOMBER JACKET?

YANKEES FAN?
Dogs are not dogs here, they are DIVAS!

From Wikipedia:

A diva is a celebrated female opera singer such as Maria Callas, Jenny Lind, Nellie Melba, or Renata Tebaldi.

However, the term is now also used to refer to an outstanding popular female performer of non-operatic works, such as Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Mariah Carey, or Whitney Houston.

Also, in gay male pop culture some non-musical women are referred to as divas, such as Kathy Griffin and Joan Rivers.

The term derives from the Italian word 'diva' meaning "goddess" or "fine lady" and was originally used to describe a woman of rare, outstanding talent.

It now also refers to obnoxiously dressed doggies in Tokyo.

I always see those outfits at Target (I'm sure the ones there are much classier. ha) and always wondered if people really put their dogs in those. Well, my question answered. Too funny! Maybe Malia would like dogs more if they were so stylish. Emma looks in heaven. I think Julia loves dogs (animals) like Emma does. Too cute! Those pics of her could be in a magazine. When are you going to post Emma's shots? Love her!!

Wow! Who dreamed of being a doggie designer. I remember when we first adopted our once little pup Koda. We took him to a pet training and to start socializing him since he is a chow. We could not believe all the other pups all dressed up in their winter workout outfits. Dan and I thought Koda was left out. Dan decided to cut up some material and made my little chow look like an Ewok off of Star War so he can fit in with all the other little pups. We learned about dog grooming, doggie daycare, and of course doggy parks. Yes, we even attended the annual Strut your Mutt events....since at that time we were childless we decided to check out all the hip places to take your dog. We had so much fun. Koda even had a doggie massage. Our dog Koda is spoiled. It's not all for the little dogs. The big dogs have fun too. But the clothes for the bigger dogs not much fun or accessible to find. So, have your daughters talked you into getting a little dog to dress up in the cute or hilarious outfits...yet!

I just read "dennis" comment and I am totally laughing. That was great. I have to know, did you stop these people and ask them to take their diva's photo? Don't they just love it when you do that? I have one picture and could never have competed with this fabulous post. You are the best blogger I know.
